Construction works on the La RésiDance project have started. On January the 1st 2008 the contractors began to prepare the site for the construction of the first 4 buildings. The buildings, called Corona look like mountain chalets. The structure is made up of poured concrete and load bearing red bricks, finished with timber and rigips facades and timber sloped roofs give the building their picturesque appearance.
The construction started off in the harsh Carpathian winter, workers had to deal with temperatures down to -20 degrees Celcius. The first weeks the site was covered with snow and ice and the ground was frozen. Nevertheless, the construction progress went on very fast. In just four weeks the foundation for the first two blocks was finalized, the first slab was poured half February.
The Holland Development team visits the site once a week to see if things are going well. Right now, the construction of the first building reached the second floor. You can see the plans becoming reality made of stone, timber, steel, plastics and ceramics. In one year people will move in and live their lives, this is history in the making!
We are happy to announce that the bank has granted a 94% loan for our construction project La ResiDance. The high loan percentage can be considered as a novelty in Romania.
This May Holland Development was visited by a group of 22 students and 2 of their professors from the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. All of them were graduation students in construction management and they were very eager to take a look into the dynamic construction market in Romania. After Bucharest the group headed for Braşov. They caught up with the management of Holland Development to visit the Parcul Verde Project and talk about the situation of this company in Braşov and being an entrepreneur in Romania in general. Afterwards, the whole group went to the HD office to work on research assignments for the development company.
